During June 3-22, 2018, the Volunteer for Life Romania Association organized the Nepal for Life humanitarian expedition. Based on the experiences of previous years, this year’s expedition was aimed at educational and medical activities in the localities of Kathmandu, Kavre and Dhanding, in which 22 volunteers with various professions participated: doctors, teachers, engineers and students.
The campaign continues the activities that were started last year:
- Dental prophylaxis programs in schools in Kavre and Dhading, attended by over 1,000 students;
- Dental consultations in schools;
- Over 600 dental interventions;
- Establishment of the first dental office in Kavre that will serve a population of approx. 20,000 seats. ;
- Distribution of toothbrushes and toothpaste in schools;
- Donation of medical supplies to Manmohan Memorial Community Hospital;
- Establishing two IT laboratories and organizing introductory courses in the use of computers (Kavre and Dhading);
- Equipping two schools with geography and biology materials needed for science laboratories (Kavre, Dhading);
- Courses in entrepreneurship, biology, sports, civic spirit, arts, personal development (Kavre, Dhading); – Renovation of 7 classrooms in Kavre;
- Intrahospital activities (surgery, emergency, physiotherapy) in Kathmandu and Dhading.
All these actions were possible with the help of sponsors and donations, and the Temad company joined the expedition, being a constant partner of the Volunteer for Life Romania Association.
