Gala Forbes 500 Business Awards 2020
Forbes Romania launched in November 2020 the latest edition of the top of the richest Romanians and of the largest companies – Forbes 500. In calculating the top companies , 5 performance factors are taken into account: turnover, profit, capital, market value and number of employees.
This year, Banca Transilvania, Dedeman and RCS&RDS S.A occupy the first 3 places in the FORBES 500 list and as we have already been used to in recent years, Temad Co is on the Forbes list
strong> and in 2020, occupying the 268th place, with a turnover of 194.8 million lei, net profit 15.3 million lei, number of employees 240 and a capital of 31.4 million lei. Temad is also growing this year by approx. 10% of turnover and respectively 13% of net profit compared to 2019.The position of Temad company in the top “Forbes 500 Companies” represents a public recognition of the company’s indisputable value, provided by the involvement, seriousness and work done to offer the best services from the Romanian market.
Last year (2019), with on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the Revolution, Forbes Romania decided to create a list of the most important business personalities who marked the Romanian economy. Mr Florin Madar, owner and CEO of the Temad family business and President of the Family Business Network Romania Association, is part of the mentioned list, and Forbes motivates his choice by the following quote:
“26 years ago, he founded Temad in a garage, with only two employees at the beginning. The company founded by Florin Madar, became one of the most important players in the import field and the distribution of auxiliary materials for constructions, recorded permanent profits and growth. Temad’s business grew constantly during the two and a half decades of activity, but the period of the crisis meant a real challenge, although the group recorded profit throughout its duration.” Mr. Florin Madar also obtaining the award “Forbes 100 Greatest Living Business Minds” in 2017 and “100 Business Heroes” this year (2020), being among the important personalities who marked the Romanian economy.
Family Business Network Romania Association brings together a number of 27 members and growing. These members are market leaders in several branches of the national economy, with a turnover of around 2.5 billion Euros per year and around 18,000 employees. Family Business Network Romania is a member of European Family Businesses, based in Brussels and is the largest European association in this field.
