Olympic Day 41st edition, Șirnea 2023
Joy, emotion, tradition, friendship, sport and fair play! Children and sports lovers from the region of Brașov and Bucharest also had a chance to participate in all of this, who participated in the 41st edition of the Olympic Day in Şirnea, which took place on June 23-24.< /p>
At the foot of Pietra Craiului, cultural and sporting events took place under the motto “Citius Altius Fortius”, where children competed in the School Olympic Pentathlon competition for the third millennium, participating in sporting, theoretical and artistic tests and the lovers of sports participated in the traditional “Olympic Day” cross-country race and the bicycle marathon race on the Brașov – Şirnea route.
Cultural moments, musical concerts and dancing were also included in the event. The artistic program was provided by the Efthymos Ensemble, the “Amadeus” Ensemble from Zărnești, the “Astra Junior” Ensemble from Săcele and the Poiana Mărului High School Ensemble.
Sânziene Night was also celebrated and marked according to customs and traditions, through a series of events that started with the vesper service, followed by a literary session and picking of Sânziene flowers to musical chords. The night ended with the “Lighted Night” event, the entire program being completed by music and poetry with the “Gaudeamus” Quartet.
TEMAD was also present this year with the athletes, offering all participants WD-40 products and discount vouchers.

Olympic Day 40th edition, Șirnea 2022
The jubilee edition of the Olympic Day, reaching its 40th edition, took place on June 22-23, 2022, in the town at the foot of Pietra Craiului and united approximately 400 participating children.< /p>
At the start of the cross-country race, students from 22 schools in Brașov gathered, athletes from the biathlon and cross-country skiing sections of the Dinamo Râșnov School Sports Club, children in a camp in Şirnea and juniors from the fencers of a club from Ukraine who came from Bucharest to Șirnea especially for the Olympic Day.
The start of the cross-country race took place, as every year, at the Heroes’ Monument, and the arrival of the participants and the cyclists who started the traditional 42km Velomarathon took place at the Olympic Arena.
