The Entrepreneur Of The Year™ program, the only global entrepreneurial competition, has been taking place since 2014 in Romania as well.
EY selects Entrepreneur Of The Year™ in more than 145 cities in more than 60 countries, covering more than 94% of the global economy. Starting from 2014, EY offers Romanian entrepreneurs the opportunity to participate in the most extensive and appreciated global business project, dedicated to entrepreneurs.
At this year’s edition of the national Entrepreneur of the Year competition, 60 businessmen signed up, including Florin Madar – General Director of Temad. After verifying the fulfillment of the eligibility conditions, 48 entrepreneurs remained in the competition.
The winners were selected based on six criteria: entrepreneurial spirit, financial performance, strategic direction, community impact, innovation capacity and personal integrity.
This year’s finalists were:
- Levente Hugo Bara, manufacturer of food ingredients Supremia Grup – winner Entrepreneur of the Year
- Vasile Armenean, maker of Betty Ice ice cream
- Doina Cepalis, manufacturer of children’s chairs Te-Rox Prod
- Florin Madar, Director General of Temad
- Philip Cox, wine producer Cramele Recaș
- Marinela and Ion Dragoi, Pet Star Holding blanket manufacturer
- Dan Isai, owner of the Salad Box fast food chain – Emerging Entrepreneur of the Year winner
- Cristian Ispas, manufacturer of chairs for people with disabilities Motivation – winner of Social Entrepreneur of the Year
- Monica Cadogan, Vivre Deco – online furniture and decoration store
- Horațiu Țepeș, manufacturer of complete systems for Bilka Steel roofs.

The jury of the Entrepreneur Of The Year™ contest consists of entrepreneurs and professionals who are completely independent and dedicated to entrepreneurship.

National winners enter the world selection, the title of World Entrepreneur of the Year™ being awarded annually in Monte Carlo in a gala ceremony with participation international.
The Temad group has developed organically, through the constant diversification of the business model, the companies active within the group being the distribution of auxiliary materials for constructions, landscaping and industry (Temad Co), industrial production (Temad Producție, mesh factory of fiberglass established in 2013) and energy production (Temad Energie – photovoltaic power plant, established in 2013). The group achieved a turnover of EUR 30.4 million and a profit of EUR 2.5 million in 2014 with a team of 270 employees.
