The year 2014 ended in a completely new way for TEMAD.
Mr. Florin Madar participated in an expedition to Mount Kilimanjaro (Tanzania), known as the “roof of Africa”.
At the expedition they 6 people participated, and Temad was represented by Florin Madar, Anca Madar (wife), Anda Madar (daughter).
Vf. Uhuru Peak – “conquered” by Temad has an altitude of 5895 m and the climb lasted 3 days.
Did you know that:
- Mount Kilimanjaro includes Uhuru Peak with an altitude of 5895 m – the highest peak in Africa – it is of volcanic origin, the magma being only 400 m below the solidified bottom of the crater.
- The first Romanian to climb Kilimanjaro was climber David Neacșu. In 1994, he led the first Romanian expedition to the volcano and achieved the world record for ascent speed.
- In 1998, the first Romanian documentary about the ascent of Kilimanjaro and Mount Kenya was made.
