AFECT Festival 2023 (August 18-20)
The Imperfect AFECT Festival, now in its third edition, took place from August 18-20, 2023, in Brașov.
AFECT is more than just a festival—it is a movement dedicated to emotional health, aiming to emphasize the importance of awareness and care for our psychological well-being. AFECT – The Imperfect Festival is also a space for knowledge exchange, discovery, and mutual support, offering numerous workshops on emotional education and information for adults and children of all ages. Whether through films used as discussion prompts, concerts featuring bands interacting with the audience, or theater performances, the themes focused primarily on psycho-education.
The festival events were free of charge, subject to availability. Organizers included activities for all age groups, inviting the entire community to participate. The festival unfolded over three days, each with a specific theme: “In the Womb,” “Childhood and Adolescence,” and “The Inner Child.”
The events were held across various locations in Brașov, including Nicolae Titulescu Central Park, Sică Alexandrescu Drama Theater, HERA House, and Kronwell Hotel, and brought together approximately 60 facilitators (doctors, psychologists, psychotherapists, meditation therapy trainers, development counselors, yoga and Pilates instructors, nutritionists, sports teachers, musicians, dancers, artists, writers, art and history enthusiasts, and advocates of art therapy). These facilitators made possible over 40 practical workshops for self-awareness and personal development, 3 concerts, 6 films, numerous debates, theater performances, dance, farm picnics, and yoga sessions for children and adults.
Participants in the AFECT Festival found numerous resources that will undoubtedly help them improve their quality of life in the future.

AFECT Festival 2022 (August 17-21)
The second edition of the AFECT Festival took place over five days in Brașov. This imperfect festival and cultural event aimed to promote films, performances, concerts, workshops, and conferences addressing topics in the vast fields of psychology and psychotherapy.
Film, music, psychotherapy, emotion—this is AFECT, the first festival in Romania dedicated to emotional education, emotional balance, and mental health.
The discussions tackled not only mental health topics but also everyday life issues and the complexity of human relationships.
The World Health Organization (WHO) describes mental health as:
“A state of well-being in which every individual realizes their own potential, can cope with the normal stresses of life, can work productively and fruitfully, and is able to contribute to their community.”
We are grateful to host such a festival in Brașov. Congratulations to the HERA Foundation, the festival organizer!
