Between July 3–6, 2025, Romania hosted one of the most important international gatherings for Volkswagen Transporter enthusiasts: the 14th edition of the Balkan Bus Meeting.
The event took place at La Ferma camping site in Homorâciu, Prahova County, bringing together over 340 Volkswagen vehicles from across Europe.
This year’s edition held special significance, marking the 75th anniversary of the first VW Transporter model – the iconic “Bulli.”
Balkan Bus Meeting 2025 celebrated this milestone by uniting generations of enthusiasts in a tribute to the freedom, exploration, and creativity that this emblematic vehicle represents. It was more than just a car show – it was a celebration of cultural legacy and the spirit of the VW Bus community, which has grown steadily over the decades.
At Ferma Homorâciu provided the perfect setting for four days of outdoor adventure and relaxation. Participants enjoyed live music, camping under the stars, and a dedicated “Van Market” area, featuring craft drinks, tasty treats, and stands offering auto parts and accessories – all in a friendly and laid-back atmosphere.
There were also kids’ activities and creative workshops, and a special Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles exhibition allowed fans to admire both vintage models and the latest innovations.
The event featured VW Transporter models representing all 75 years of evolution – highlighting both technological progress and the community’s boundless creativity.
Visitors got up close with everything from the legendary T1 Bulli – a symbol of classic freedom – to the rugged T2 and T3 models, many cleverly converted into camper vans, as well as rare collector’s editions like Westfalia campers and 4×4 Syncro off-road builds.
The modern T6.1 models stood proudly alongside the classics, and the electric Volkswagen ID. Buzz made a striking appearance, showcasing the future of the Bulli legacy.
Each vehicle told its own story, but all shared a common spirit: a genuine love for the Bulli and the freedom of life on four wheels.
Every year, this event brings together Volkswagen enthusiasts from all over Europe, strengthening a vibrant community united by the same passion.
