TAMTAM Festival 2022 (July 29-31)
For 3 days (July 29-31) it was big TAMTAM in the heart of Brasov. The city became a vast multicultural stage, where the streets of the city center were transformed into a space dedicated to art, where every emotion found its place on its own stage and where lovers of street art gathered to feel the vibrant energy of the festival once again.
It was 3 days full of art – music, dance, theater, cinema and visual arts in 6 locations with artistic performances: St. John Square, Enescu Square, HUB 2068 – Mureșenilor 27, Weiss/Republicii, St. Ecaterina Gate, Sf.
Live music, rock opera, rock, jazz, blues, indie, film, outdoor theater, interactive workshops, workshops, children’s concerts – all this was enjoyed by the public present at the festival.
This year’s TAMTAM Festival artists included PiDjob, Zoia Alecu, Alifantis & Zan, Am Fost La Munte si Mi-a Placut, Andrei Duțu, Soul Serenade & Alex Olteanu, The Jazzy Jo Experience, Paul Prisada, Opera Rock “Meșterul Manole”, Bucharest Tango Trio, Alexu & The Voices Inside and 4Tune Quartet, Accord Vibes, Nod In Papura and many others.

Big artistic TamTam in the heart of the country in Brasov, August 13-15

- Filarmonica and Opera Brașov in exceptional classical performances, unique TAMTAM Festival has reached its third edition, music, theater, dance, visual arts and film will occupy and enliven Brașov between August 13 and 15, offering the public free access to 0 variety of exceptional cultural experiences.
This edition of the festival brings only Romanian artists, most of them established, but also young aspiring artists, classical and innovative performances, in new spaces, in the street, art galleries or shopping malls, with the desire to capture an active audience, eager to explore new territories with the artists.
The festival aims to invade the community, get into the heart of the audience and take the spectators on an authentic journey through creative workshops, versatile dialogues with the artists after the concerts and educational projects. The music is listened to either in its own, sensory, allusive concept, resonating with visual rhythms, combining vibraphone or marimba sounds with movie projections and classical instruments.
Alternative rock will be unleashed with Robin and the Backstabbers, Mono Jacks and Grimus, Toulouse Lautrec, Eyedrops and many more. Musicians from the Brasov Philharmonic and Opera will lead classical music to the hearts of the audience through the notes and scores of the famous. Jazz will take us, through its new tones, into an expressive world of unfiltered sounds, but to open hearts.
Film, dance, theater, theater, visual arts, for 3 days the city will become a broad, multicultural scene, a natural, creative approach aimed to change the world within us and open it to the Arts. The program will also include events such as Musiculinaria – a creative concept bringing together music and culinary art, both offered by passionate musicians, painting workshops, film screenings, improvisation and dance performances, open-air theatre performances, jazz concerts, classical music duo and instrument pairings with complete freedom of expression – handpan drum, creative workshops for children, music and tango show, swing Boogie Woogie, jam sessions between artists, etc.
The audience will be able to meet the artists after the concert in the dialogs at Hub 2068, the most important cultural, educational and entrepreneurial development space in Brasov, inaugurated during TAMTAM Festival.
The artistic performances will take place in the middle of the people, in different places: the TAMTAM stage in St. John’s Square and in the Council Square, alternative stages in Enescu squares and at KronArt Gallery, at AFI Mall and HUB 2068. “What we want with this festival is to bring art even closer to people, hence our motto #ArtToHeart.
We believe that the artistic or cultural act not only develops the mind, but stimulates deep feelings, strong emotions. TAMTAM Festival is also about this flow of energy between the parties – the artists transmitting all their energy and passion to the audience, receiving back the effervescence and joy of the audience, about passions that are cultivated and lived, but also about how a creative community is built with each edition.

The program starts on Friday, August 13, at 13:00 and ends at 23:00, and on Saturday (August 14) and Sunday (August 15) all stages will be open from 13:00 to 23:00. TAMTAM Festival 2020
Ioan-Dragoș Dimitriu, artistic director of the festival, said, “Through these events we bring a bit of “color” to the souls of the people in the Old Town. This year the artists come exclusively from Romania, precisely to support the country’s cultural scene. We’re expecting visitors from all over the country in Brasov, in a bid to bring the excitement to the streets. TAM TAM is about enjoying this wonderful life together”.
Horia Mihail, general director and initiator of the festival said, “Brasov, the heart of the country, will continue to beat artistically strong in 2020, as a result of the support received from the artistic community and culture lovers. We want to build a stage again and let the emotions of the artists and the joy of the spectators run free, in full respect of the safety measures imposed”.
This year’s edition of the festival will bring on stage exclusively Romanian artists, Compact, Byron with MUSE Quartet, The Jazzy Jo Experiance, Horia Mihail, Filip Papa, Ionuț Bogdan Ștefănescu, Tango Trio Bucharest, many young artists from Brasov, Teofil Mihailescu, Unveiled.ro, Valentin Serban, Fallen Angel and many others.

The festival starts on Friday and Saturday from 13:00 and ends at 22:00 and 23:00 respectively. The performances will take place at the stadium of the Andrei Saguna National College (main stage), at the Weavers’ Bastion (theater), at the KronArt gallery (classical music concerts), in the space in front of the Reduta Cultural Center, in Brassai Square and on the terraces of several venues on Republicii Street, where solo artists and duos will perform.
A maximum of 500 people will be allowed on the large stage on the Arena of the Andrei Saguna National College, according to the current rules. Seats will be placed 1.5 meters apart. In the KronArt Gallery 40-50 people are allowed. Concerts will be held with the windows open to include street auditions. In the Weavers’ Bastion 100 people will be allowed, while in Brassai Square a maximum of 200 people will be allowed to attend the event.
Each stage will be signposted and its perimeter delimited, and access will be in different directions. At the entrance, people will be able to receive masks on request, and hygiene solutions will be provided by the organizers. The whole process will be supervised by 50 volunteers and representatives of local authorities, who will ensure that all safety measures are respected.
